Gallons = 112.553
Do the Math = 42.23787904 (Average mpg)

& 1 VERY dirty Prius!!

Not bad considering we ranged in speeds from 70-85 mph!

Close Encounters of the Third Kind

Holly and I took a little side-trip to Roswell, NM today in search of any little green men (or women) that the government left behind nearly 61 years ago. Thankfully, we found a few and will be bringing them back home to Arizona to show off at dinner parties, family reunions, etc. They make great novelties. :-)

Anywho, we explored the International UFO Museum this afternoon after driving all morning from Arlington, TX. Tomorrow, we head to Ruidoso, NM, where Grandpa and Grandma have adventured a few times on vacation. We will probably check out the horse races in Ruidoso Downs tomorrow on the way to our little cabin in the foothills for the night. Holly obviously can't wait for more horse activities... *neigh again*

Here are some pictures from our adventures in Roswell today.

Georgia Peaches

Good morning from sunny Peachtree City, GA! Holly and I hope that everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day holiday. The weather was beautiful here in Georgia, and Chris, Allison, the kids, Holly, and I went to see a Memorial Day parade in a little town called Senoia. Lots of fun! Sorry that we haven't posted pictures lately. For some reason, the wireless Internet isn't connecting on Holly's computer, so we'll have to put up some pics a little further down the road.

One more day in Georgia so we're making the most of it and spending lots of time with Laura and Will. We leave early tomorrow morning for Arlington, TX; so needless to say, Holly and I are NOT looking forward to 12 1/2 hours on the road. The next day, we'll be in Roswell, NM to search for alien life, and then we'll spend a day in Ruidoso, NM. We're thinking of checking out the horse racing in Ruidoso Downs, so that should be exciting. You know Holly and horses... *neigh* :-)

Lots of pictures to come!

More from Cooper Commons

Here are a few more pictures from Cooper Commons this evening:

Weird plant pokey thing that normally goes straight up...

Allison on the playground

Allison's shadow

My shadow

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood

With a high temperature of about 80 degrees today, one can't help but want to be outside. Allison and I hung out at one of the Cooper Commons parks for a little while early this afternoon.

And, as a side note, this is why I don't like pigeons on my roof...

Wii Fun!!!

Last week, Stan and I got a Wii! I know that sounds crazy!!!! We have been having fun bowling and playing tennis and golf. Jeff decided to come over last night and give us a little competition....of course he beat us both in bowling so what can I say???? Here are some pictures that I took with my new camera.....see how they are concentrating? Nobody in this family likes to lose!

Off to Peachtree City, GA!

Holly and I are hitting the road again early this morning. This time, we're headed to Peachtree City, GA, to see Chris, Allison, Laura, and Will (Holly's brother and his family). It's about 9 hours away so we'll be in the Prius all day. Call if you want to say HI! :-)

Gatorland & Jupiter, FL

Holly and I have been in Jupiter, FL for a couple of days now, but we thought you might enjoy some Gatorland pictures from Orlando. Gatorland is one of Florida's first "theme parks" even though the only ride was a rickety old train that looped around the park.

I also included a few pictures at the bottom of one of Del & Sandy's horses, their dog Amy, and our Prius enjoying a much-needed bath in a Florida thunderstorm. We had over 3" of rain yesterday afternoon! Haven't seen that kind of rain in Phoenix in a LONG time!

Is it May or January?

Two and three days ago, we were dealing with high temperatures in the 105-110 degree range. And now today, it's been raining all afternoon, and I just checked the outside thermometer...as of 4:15pm Arizona time...it's 55 degrees. What's going on here in Arizona (not that I'm complaining)?

The Big Easy Pics

New Orleans, LA

Gators? I don't see no gators...

Yes, it's true. Holly and I are headed to Gatorland in Orlando, FL, today. So I'm sure we'll take lots of pictures. Apparently, we'll have the chance to get up-close-and-personal with gators and crocs at this Alligator Capital of the World. Check it out at http://www.gatorland.com.

We've been doing lots of driving the past couple of days, so we're happy to only be about 2 hours from Holly's Uncle Del's house in Jupiter, FL. We left Austin, TX, first thing on Monday morning and traveled to New Orleans, LA. It was our first time visiting the Big Easy, and honestly, it was a little scary. :-) The French Quarter area has a lot of character, but also a lot of crazy people--not Vegas crazy--Crazy, crazy... So we avoided those folks and snapped some photos of the interesting buildings. Amazing how many buildings are kind of situated at an angle because they've shifted over time.

Not much time to upload pictures this morning, so we'll post some later today.

Still in Austin!

More pictures from Jess & Christian's in Austin, TX. We'll be heading out early tomorrow for New Orleans, LA, so stay tuned for more pictures. The cute pup in the photos is Chico! Say HI!
